And Nature

Happened

Del Ficke, publisher of Nebraska’s Son Books, is the co-founder of the Graze Master Group and manages Ficke Cattle Company. With more than four decades of experience as both an agriculturist and cattleman, and now author and photographer, Ficke has developed a one-of-a-kind trademarked breed of composite cattle, the Graze Master and is passionate about changing society from the soil up.

Ficke has spent the last several years transitioning his farming operation back to what he calls, “a more holistic, sensible and profitable approach that is both modern and historically-based in both concept and philosophy.” He has restored the soils to their more natural state and transformed commodity-driven cropland back into native pastures as well as adopted a mob-grazing approach to cattle raising.

Ficke has sold cattle genetics as well as consulted throughout the nation and internationally. He is driven by results and in serving thousands of clients, he has a 99 percent success rate in improving their agricultural businesses – from increasing profitability to successfully implementing regenerative practices.

Today Ficke’s passion is sharing his story through his book, “And Nature Happened.” His intent is to give us all permission to pursue the beauty of our unique potential where it was truly meant to bloom.
